I have always loved art in many forms but more recently my heart has been stolen by my love of photography.
I never thought of myself as being good and just used to take photos as a way of capturing a memory but upon meeting my husband who is an artist and being told by people in the industry that I have a talent, I found that my confidence grew and I have started to play around a bit more.
I pride myself that all images on this website are all mine, I by no means say that I am a professional but I think it's safe to say that I am not that bad. I love trying loads of different ways to capture images and love trying out new technology.
My advice for anyone who wants to give photography a go is have the confidence to pick up a camera in the first place. I never thought I was any good and I still don't think I am amazing but I have the confidence to put my images out there for people to see and that is the first step. Sometimes it's not about what people think but what you want to see and if I would say anything about my photography is that I love every image and I don't care about what other people say as long as I am happy with it.
I don't know what drew me to photography whether it was the fact I loved looking at images that seemed to be snapshot in time or making people feel something from a single image. Some images transport you to another time and place, other images portray people's emotions and some images you can even hear the image as if you was stood there when it was taken. The saying a picture speaks a thousand words doesn't come from nowhere and being able to capture an image that says so much to me is an amazing skill to possess.
So if you are worried about what people may think about your photography don't be, as long as you are happy with your work it doesn't matter about anyone else's opinion. Have the confidence in yourself to say I am pretty good and I want to pursue this further as you may never know where it will take you.
