Now that life is slowly returning to a form of normal it's time to plan some adventures!
Like many we had a lot of our travel plans cancelled last year due to the pandemic so to ease us back in we have been planning some exciting trips. We have decided until we have more clarity that travelling abroad is off the table so all our adventures are a little closer to home.
One thing that we missed was the freedom to go outside (other than a daily walk) so we looked into different activities to do. There are plenty of things to get you outdoors including farms and zoos, strawberry picking, outdoor cinema trips and miniature golf. We even managed to book tickets to a Balloon Fiesta! The best things about these activities is that they can be done with all of the family!
We also wanted to book in some day trips to the coast as like many people we have missed being by the sea, to mix it up we looked at local coastlines on our train route but have also booked some staycations in Northumberland and North Yorkshire.
One area that has suffered the most during the pandemic is the arts, we loved going to the theatre so as soon as tickets went on sale we booked in a few west end shows and gigs. We love music and the arts and there are so many choices. There is always something for all the family and if being stuck inside isn't your thing then check out the outdoor theatres and parks as there are a lot of summer pop up shows.
We wanted to make up for the amount of time stuck inside so made sure to book some more travel friendly and local adventures. We also have a trip planned for the end of the year but we are holding out for travel guidance so hopefully I can share some of or plans too.
One thing this last year has taught me is that make the most of the time you have as you never know what's around the corner. I would love to hear about your adventures planned for the summer and what you are all going to be up to so don't forget to comment below!
